Science meets Art at ZKM Karlsruhe

Thomas Bosch was invited as a guest at the Karlsruhe Center for Art and Media (ZKM) as part of »FLOW – Days of Sustainability« on April 5, 2025. In this interdisciplinary project, Bosch complemented the spatial sound installation “Dancing Sea” with a panel contribution on “The invisible world of microbes – and the principle of the metaorganism”. “Dancing Sea” was composed by Taiwanese composer Shi on behalf of GMD Georg Fritzsch and the Kiel Philharmonic Orchestra for the Zoological Museum of Kiel University and premiered in Kiel in 2019. Bosch was joined in the discussion by composer Shi, Georg Fritzsch (General Music Director of the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe), and the scientific-artistic chairman of the ZKM, Alistair Hudson. Anna-Maria Haas from the Staatstheater was the discussion leader.
