Rob Knight, University of California, San Diego – The Microbial Side of Ourselves
In this contribution to our host-microbe interview series, CRC 1182-speaker Prof. Thomas Bosch talks to Prof. Rob Knight, University of California, San Diego (UCSD), about his pioneering work in the field of microbiome research and his special achievements in understanding the interplay between the microbial colonisation of the body and human health. Knight, founding director of the Center for Microbiome Innovation at UCSD, is considered one of the world’s foremost experts in the field of human microbiome research.
The interview was recorded during Knight’s visit to Kiel University in September 2022, when he was awarded with the CRC 1182’s Karl August Möbius-Fellowship.
